Home Cook Dinner # 12 ^_^

Today, decided to whip another meal for dinner as there were some extra vegetable and poultry left from last purchase. So,since yesterday, mind already start cracking on what to cook for today's dinner. So just very simple cutting and preparation, here's what we have for today's dinner:

Winter Melon with Dried Shrimp

Sesame Oil Chicken

Winter Melon Soup with Pork Ribs

Home Cook Dinner # 11 ^_^

This is a backdated post….:p

Last July 7, it was a PH in Penang, (observing Anniversary of Declaration of the World Heritage Site) and the best part of it is that our company acknowledged the PH. So since not working, hence tried my best to sleep in, but when the clock stroke at 8am, automatically my body already felt awake. Haiz..haiz… so much of hoping that I could have my beauty sleep.

While lying on bed, I thought of cooking a simple dinner for the day as well as invited hubby’s colleague and his girl-friend (whom stayed next to our block) for dinner. So off I went to the market nearby to our place, and quickly grabbed all the ingredients I needed for the day. Though the market is small, but basically it has all the things that one need for cooking, just that some of the things may be quite costly compared to those hypermarkets, especially poultry. Nonetheless, due to I lazy to drive all the way to the hypermarket, and with the consideration of the gas my car would consumed for driving all the way down to just get the poultry, I just settled everything in the market then.

So, the dishes menu for the day was Curry Chicken, Fried Onion Carrot Eggs, Yau Mak with Mackerel Dace and Assam Prawns while for the rice, I whipped up Nasi Lemak instead. I’m glad that all were edible and they enjoyed it very much. ^_^ But then, at the end of the day, after all the cutting, stirring and washing, both of my hands suffered from mild muscle pain..(guess my age is really catching up already..)

Anyway, here are some pictures to share, but due to all were hungry at that time, had forgotten to take the curry chicken picture, hence have three pictures only.

Home Cook Dinner # 10 ^_^

Sometimes I really wonder, whether does it cost much cheaper to have home cook meal for just two persons or would it be costing more than? And then too much of outside food with all the MSG, it sure won't make us any healthier either. Also, outside food can never be more satisfying than home cook meal as well, right?

The question of the cost seems to be on and off my mind and that is why at times, I really kind of reluctant to cook, one, the cost seems to be more and second, I'm lazy lo. I've asked this question to people around me, some says that it is cheaper, some says it is more costly. So what do you say then?

Nonetheless, at times I really do try to find the time and energy that I have to cook because hubby and I have been eating outside food and the MSG has been conserving inside our body...lol! Hence, if I'm not really tired, I will just try to cook simple dishes. (but I hope I won't be torturing hubby's stomach / ruin hubby's appetite instead - because am not a real good cook ma)

Anyway, since it has been ages from my last whipping, today I've decided to whip out some simple dishes again...yaya, can't blame me as I got to buy, cut, chopped, cooked and lastly CLEAN. You do notice the word CLEAN in CAPS, right? Well, not that I don't like cleanliness, but then cleaning after cooking has always been pretty tiring job.

But then what to do, since I like cooking, so guess I got to complement it with the cleaning since there is nobody I can accountable to. (errr, don't get me wrong, it's not that my hubby can't help, he can help, but then I guess we ladies know that when we asked guys to help, at the end of it, we have to do it again, unless one eye close, the other open - so sometimes, might as well we do it all then, agree?).

So, here are some pictures of tonight's dinner:

Toufu with Shredded Chicken and Shitake Mushroom

Nestum Prawns

Steam Chicken with Ginger Garlic

Home Cook Dinner # 9 ^_^

Pheeww!!..finally catching up with the time already..lol! Since yesterday already cooked "east meal", so today going to attempt with "west meal".. haha. Today's meal was pretty much easy, nothing much need to be cut..just a few things like sausages (didn't buy bacon), tomatoes, mushrooms and etc. So, the meal for today is Fettucini Carbonara, however, with own creation of carbonara sauce...lol.. It's my 1st attempt to cook such sauce, and I was pretty satisfied with the results... hehehe...

Now, just hopefully hubby won't be complaining or anything.....haha, though I know got to always welcome feedback, if not how can one improve, right? But I guess most of you agree, if the feedback comes from other people's mouth, we feel ok, but if comes from our the other half, we tend to turn deaf ears.. am I right? *grinning*

This is because we will feel that we have gone thru all the troubles and time to prepare a meal, but in return receive all the "complains"?? Mana boleh, right? hahaha...I think I can sense your smile over there... ^_^.

Apart saying all that, we too must try and learn to accept hubby's comment or feedback as well, so we can improve ourselves..as after all, they are the ones to be the 1st batch "white mouse" or rather "guinea pigs" to taste all of our 1st attempt of food preparation.Ahem...great satisfaction right after reading the phrase "white mouse" or "guinea pigs"?? Kakaka... *high five*...Btw, shhh.just between you and me, pls don't let your hubby know about those two phrases.

Alright, I guess enough of my blabbering..here's the picture to share...

Fettucini Carbonara (but with own creation carbonara sauce) :p

Home Cook Dinner # 8 ^_^

Hang on...this is no backdated post...it was just yesterday.. ^_^ During the weekends, thinking that there's still some poultry left in the fridge, hence decided to cook on Monday. So, while doing some groceries shopping during the weekends, bought some vegetables as well to be included in the meal, after all we are always advised to have a balanced diet ma..agree? :)

I didn't really manage to prepare the cutting job the night before as by the time reached home, was pretty exhausted already. So after work yesterday, quickly "F1" home (don't be kan cheong..just expressing only, I where got such high technique of driving..:p)to prepare all the necessary cuttings and ingredients that need to be used. So after several hours of cut and chop, clink and clank, here's what has been whipped for yesterday's dinner.

Stir Fried Broccoli with Bunashimeji Mushrooms {Beech Mushroms}

Baked Beans with Eggs

Actually there's another dish, but I didn't take the picture cause the sauce was too dark.. (I guess too much of thick dark caramel sauce gua or was it because of the lightning ...:p ) anyway, it was Stir Fried Sesame Chicken with Ginger. Nonetheless, hubby finished everything "spick-and-span" :)

Home Cook Dinner # 7 ^_^

Helloooo.....everybody..I'm back after so long...hahaha.. 1st thing 1st, though it was already a week past of the new year, nonetheless, still want to wish all of my friends and readers (if I have any which I doubt so) a very Blessed New Year and may this year brings abundance of joy and success in your life.

Actually, why the return of me in action took so long is because..err..err.. was pretty busy...eeekkk...I know my lies won't be able to trick you..yea, you've guessed it correctly, was actually kinda lazy to think and write...lol! Yaya, I know lame excuses...:p

So this post is going to be real.....backdated post as this dinner was prepared in the year 2010, to be exact on Dec 27, 2010...haha. So just want to have a record, hence just simply bla something and have it posted...hehe, don't mind ya.

Home Cook Dinner # 6 ^_^

Though tired after a hard day at work, but the feel of having a home cook meal is stirring within me and so does my craving for steamed herbal chicken...lol! Hence, today came back from work, quickly take out the chicken to defrost it as time is running out, and have lots of cutting to do. Well, you see usually when I know I want to cook dinner tomorrow, I would usually do all preparation the day before, but for today it is really impromptu. So, can say time is not on my side today, what more when I have an "orchestra" starting inside my stomach.

So here's a quick and simple whipped up dinner with three dishes. The steamed herbal chicken surprisingly tasted quite good because I didn't taste it before it went for "steam bath"..hence quite shocking for me..But then one thing, after taking the picture, only I realize it needs more color. Hmmm..maybe next time I should garnish it with more colors...Nonetheless,it's still appetizing as hubby finished everything to the last drop of the "chicken essence"

Home Cook Dinner # 5 ^_^

All of a sudden, the urge of cooking, baking and food presentation, came rushing out from within deep down in me and just feel wanna come out...but sometimes it still can't beat the "laziness" in me...lol! Hence, when I feel like cooking or anything, I just got to do it before the "heat" died away..haha...I guess my friends or hubby would have shaking their heads hard reading this... *ooopps*

Anyway, it wasn't really a good Monday for me (or should I say, who likes Monday hah?!). Today, can say that I kinda started my new job role "officially" like that though still a lot of guidance and advice needed. I was really overwhelmed with endless emails..requests...which kept on coming into my mailbox like nobody business...*pheww* And then doubts started to weave into my mind, thinking of whether did I make the wrong move in changing? Is this really the direction where God wants me to go? I mean I did asked for His guidance..signs...before I took any step into this new "adventure", but I just don't know why today, I feel so restless, worried, doubtful about where am at now. I'm all still mambo jumbo juggling with all my tasks as well as the systems. Will I be able to go thru this season? God, I need You...need Your grace, strength and wisdom... *shrugg*

So, today came back with mood-less feelings and a hungry stomach, hence simply go to the kitchen and whipped this up for dinner:

Grilled Teriyaki Salmon Steak

This dinner was prepared last Mon...just simple curry chicken, stir fried siew pak choy and fried onion eggs...

Just don't know why, suddenly thought of cooking, maybe due to missing homecook meal very much. But too bad, I have to actually satisfy my longing myself..haiz haiz. So kolian hior? Of course, it would be fantastic if got people to get the meals ready whenever we come back from office, agree? Hubby commented the dinner is nice...and said can opened up economy rice shop just below our apartments...sure got people buy want..Well, so much of his confidence ha??!!But then I asked him, you cooked ar? Then he keep quiet...lol! lol! Home Cook Dinner # 3 ^_^

Today is public holiday, but then sadly, hubby's company did not recognize the public holiday. Yea, it's so bad, right? Well, despite that today is public holiday and thought I can sleep in a little longer, reluctantly I still have to wake up at 8am to fetch hubby's brother to the bus terminal as he got a bus to catch to KL.So, after that, went for a quick marketing as later tonight I planned to cook dinner as well as getting some breakfast. Then, when reach home, quickly start to cut all the vegetables and later on getting ready to go out again to visit a friend and her baby. So, I guess today is quite a fruitful day as I utilize today's time fully...but then quite tiring too as was driving here and there. Anyway, here are some pictures to share of the dinner I prepared. *_*

Home Cook Dinner # 2 ^_^

Yesterday as usual, a friend of mine came to loan my piano for practice. Initialy thought of asking her to go out for dinner, as I was pretty lazy to cook. But then, mana tahu, came to know that she was sick. Hence, I mah decided to simply cooked simple century egg porridge for dinner instead lo. I also boiled some chrysanthemum tea to relieve our "heaty" bodies as lately the weather was so uncertain and was superbly hot.

Home Cook Dinner # 1 ^_^

Monday....another maniac blue Monday. Add on to it, got a quite bad sore throat due to pop too much popcorns at Sunday night..haiz haiz. But then luckily today I have half day leave to "rescue" me...hehe. Though today only worked half day, I came to know a good friend of mine, her hubby was admitted into the hospital...and she's preggie. So, think no more, straight after leave work place, head to the hypermarket to get some things, if not tak kan go visitation empty handed meh? Not nice mah...I do hope that she will be strong and hopefully her hubby will recover soon.

So after visitation, quickly rush back home to prepare dinner, which was a request from the guest of honor...lol. Anyhow, it's really my pleasure to be able to cook for her and hope she will not get food poisoning though...haha. After several chops chops...cling clang cling clang, finally the dinner is ready. But,later on the guest of honor smsed me and told she will be late wor due to the bad traffic. Anyhow, we finally able to sit down to enjoy the dinner plus chit chat instead of her objective to come over is to loan my 1st precious for practice...haha. Luckily later on she still have time to practice for her upcoming class.
